There were a lot of prominent drivers who had birthdays yesterday (February 28). On my lock list there were six (Mario Andretti, Bourdais, Philipp Eng, Ingo Hoffmann, Butch Leitzinger, Robin Liddell). I had originally planned to do Andretti at the start of the week leading up to the Daytona 500 since he was one of the one-time Daytona 500 winners who I considered locks, but I couldn’t get it done so I’ll find some other place to squeeze him in eventually. Bourdais is either the second or third greatest of these drivers depending on whether you rate him or 12-time Stock Car Brasil champion Ingo Hoffmann higher, but I don’t think I’m knowledgeable about that series enough to write about Hoffmann yet, so I had Bourdais scheduled for February 28 even though I am writing this on March 1. Yesterday, I had the worst diarrhea of my life and went about twelve times. I think I caught a bacterial infection while visiting Mom in the rehab center/nursing home since I could also smell my burps and that was something new, but I basically felt okay today so I’m gonna try to make up for lost time and write the Bourdais column and the Will Power column and all my RotoBaller columns before I go to bed tonight. Wish me luck.
