Top 200 of 2024: The top 50

I'm going to turn off monthly charges for a bit so I can focus on my mom.

My mom is still in the hospital (although she’s been transferred out of the emergency room) and they’re refusing to let me see her or now even talk to her because apparently the nurses there have decided I’m too “violent”. I have never hit anyone in my entire life and although I argued on my mom’s behalf a little bit with the hospital staff, I don’t even think I raised my voice so I have no idea why they think I’m a security threat. I tried to go visit her yesterday, but they wouldn’t let me in and they wouldn’t even let me go to the bathroom when I needed to have diarrhea, so I walked all over the streets of Syracuse for many miles and almost got frostbite walking home off the bus. At least they told me the name of the supervising nurse who made this decision, so maybe I will pick a bone with her but since she apparently won’t be in until Monday, I guess there was little I could really do today. I want to write more about this and I’m going to fully write about the last two years after finishing this, which is why I did want to finish this. But although I had a whole schedule of all the 1,000 greatest driver capsules I was planning for this year, I obviously need to take a break from them to focus on my mom and a bunch of other related real life stuff, so after I publish this, I am going to pause monthly charges for a little bit. I’m sorry for those of you who paid for the entire year, but obviously my mom is more important. If they end up forcing her into a nursing home against her wishes, they’ll very likely take all the money from her Social Security check and at that point I may restart just to get more income streams going, but it would be irresponsible for me to write as much as I have been until that point. But since there was nothing I could do about talking to her today, I finished this instead.
